Meet Our Ministers
Josh Willard
Interim PasterJosh Willard is a graduate of Toccoa Falls College, where he earned a degree in Biblical Studies, and he has also pursued theological training at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He brings a wide range of ministry experience, having served in youth ministry, church planting, pulpit supply, overseas missions, Sunday School administration, worship leadership, AWANA, Vacation Bible School, and church administration.
With a heart for the local church, Josh is passionate about faithfully preaching the gospel, making disciples, and ministering to the body of Christ. He desires to encourage and equip believers to grow in their faith while helping the church remain focused on its mission to reach others with the love and truth of Jesus Christ.
Leon Morrison
Minister of MusicOur Music Minister, Leon Morrison, joined our Church and Staff at Houston Lake Baptist Church on September 22, 2024.
Originally from Soperton, GA, Leon trusted Jesus as his personal Savior in 1974. Leon's musical background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the Baptist University of Florida and numerous years of experience as a Music Minister. Currently, Leon lives in Perry, GA, and is employed at the GA Dept of Labor.
Jon Peacock
Youth MinisterJon, a native of Eastman, Georgia, began volunteering as a lay minister in 2013 after joining HLBC in 2012. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern and an MBA from Kennesaw State. Despite his full-time job at Robins Air Force Base, Jon has dedicated his time to various missions, including trips to Moldova, the Dominican Republic, and Cuba. He has also served as a Sunday school teacher, worked at the Georgia National Fair Tent Ministry, and held the position of HLBC Treasurer.
Before his role at HLBC, Jon served as a Special Agent for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for five years. During his tenure, he worked on nearly 400 criminal cases, specializing in crime scene investigation and drug enforcement. Additionally, he served as a patrol leader in an infantry unit during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In his personal life, Jon is an avid college football and Braves baseball fan. He is married to Erin Waldrep Peacock, a native of Forsyth, Georgia, who works as a pharmacist in Perry. Together, they have two children, Zach and Kara.
